What an incredible morning! Saturday was the Davis Turkey Trot, in which 20 Moms in Motion team members participated. We had a few miss due to various obligations, but a fantastic turnout all together.
It was a little chilly that morning...who am I kidding! It was freezing all morning, but we layered up and kept moving. I can't tell you how much fun it is to do an event with our MIM team. Everyone is so excited and pumped up in the morning, GO MIM cheers ring loud as MIMs cross the finish line and everyone comments on our Flower Power shirts for some reason. =)
This was my personal first 10K as a runner. I've completed various events as a speed walker, including two marathons BEFORE kiddos which I'm very proud of. But I've been inspired by all my MIM teammates to begin running this last year and surprise myself with how much I enjoy it. 5K's have been my thing, this time I decided to listen to my own words "push yourself a little more ladies!" and train for the 10K.
I ran my whole 10K, finished faster than I expected, made a few friends on the cou
rse, saw my hubby and kids at the finish line. (saw my teammates too..sorry ladies nothing beats having your kids cheer ya on) AND cheered my kiddos on in the kids run later than morning. LOVE IT!!Time to start planning for 2010! Check out the basics already posted at www.momsinmotion.com
