Little changes

The other day I ran into a friend at the store, she was buying items to make Amish friendship bread. It's a food chain letter, do you know the stuff? It began as an Amish secret recipe, you mash it and let it bubble for 10 days, add things to it, then at the end give a few starters to friends and make a batch of delicious bread.

Long story short, I immediately asked if she could bring me a started. Baked goods are one of my weaknesses. This stuff us loaded with sugar, plus pudding mix, plus more sugar. So now I'm on the quest to make our version of Amish friendship bread a little healthier.

Juice Plus+ Complete plant based meal replacement
Here are a few little changes we'll make to our bread:

  • replace the oil with applesauce = less calories and fat
  • replace the pudding mix with 2 mashed bananas= less sugar
  • replace half the flour with wheat flour= adds whole grains
  • replace half the sugar with Juice Plus+ Complete = less sugar, plant based protein, carbs, etc
  • coat the pan with baking spray instead of butter and sugar= less calories and fat
  • add a cup of blueberries= more antioxidants

Knowing these changes will result in an equally yummy bread that I'll feel better about enjoying. Can't wait for day 10!!!

Little changes can add up. Little changes are easier to stick with. Little changes seem less daunting. Little changes are doable. Continue to make those little changes in your life.
